Yep, that's where we spent the night last night. Dropped anchor off the side of the river. But I'm too far ahead of myself . . . After we left Pelican Bay, we headed south to Ft. Meyers where we were treated to a wonderful lunch and reunion with our friends Wendy Clark and her two beautiful girls, Evie and Lulu (Lauren). They're a wonderful family and it was great to see them!!!
We headed east on the Okachobee Waterway through rainy skies and anchored off the side of the river for the night. Here's our little home for the night.
The next morning, we headed out, still on the Waterway, with some new friends ... The occasional cows off the side of the river and the gators of course. It was an 8 gator day!
The Okachobee Waterway is a great way to more quickly get through the middle of Florida, but it's filled with several locks along the way. Here's Nicholas handling our bow lines - he does a great job!
So now we are docked for the night in a marina in Indiantown, FL for the night. When you're traveling on a boat, you learn to appreciate the little things ... like accessible water and power. So I'm going to sign off, do some dishes, laundry, and take a shower ... ahhhhh fresh water!
Life is good at the end of an anchor!
