We left St. Petersburg, FL April 30 under dark skies and very rocky waves. We surfed over following seas which caused our speed to fluctuate between 9 and 10 knots depending on which side of the wave we were on. The Beach Boys kept running through my head as we surfed! Once we finally made the turn south, we ran outside on slowly calming and flattening seas. Nicholas, ever the fisherman, ran two lines looking to catch our dinner.
This 2 foot Spanish Mackeral became our yummy first meal on the hook. Great Job Nicholas!
As the day continued, we ended up with beautiful skies, calm seas and fresh fish for dinner.
Not a bad first day!
Life is good at the end of an anchor!
