Our second night in Bimini was a real treat - a beautiful anchorage called Honeymoon Harbor. What a stunningly beautiful place!!!! The water was multi-colored, we had new friends to greet us - a swarm of rays greeted us and lightly brushed our toes, this nurse shark which Rob, Sam and Nicholas got up close and personal with as well as this Halloween decoration left by some previous explorer. It was the kind of island you don't believe exists anymore: deserted, sandy beaches, and plenty of wildlife. We built a fire on the beach and enjoyed the company!
Although we hated to leave, we had to press on. We headed to the Berry Islands, specifically Chubb Cay. Our arrival looked promising as it had several beautiful little homes surrounding a quaint lagoon. Once we did a little research, though, we learned that most of the island was in bankruptcy and few people were actually there. Hey, anyone want to buy an island? The Metro's are IN! It was still a beautiful place to stay the night - and we even got some snorkeling in.
The real excitement came when we left Chubb . . . we hooked a Marlin!!!! What a tremendous experience!!!! We are now on the market for a sportfish (not really - but we understand the appeal)!
The rest of the day to Nassau was a glorious as any day on a boat! And there's even more to come.
Life is good at the end of an anchor!
