After Allen's, we continued to head south and anchored at Wardrick Wells, part of Exuma Land and Sea Park. Interestingly, at the anchorage, there was one other boat which happened to be from ... of all places ... St. Petersburg, FL! But wait, there's more ... they dock their boat at the St. Pete Municipal Marina where we have been docking our boat. How's that for a small world?!?!? We invited them over for dinner and enjoyed a fun evening with new friends. That's what cruising is all about - making friends wherever you go.
The park had some beautiful trails which we enjoyed. We went to Boo Boo Hill named after a ship which sank there and not a soul survived - the "boo" is for their ghosts which are said to be heard throughout the island. As is their want, cruisers have offered a new meaning for this hill by using it as a place where driftwood is used to indicate the boats which have landed here. Lady Enna is now part of this history.
We also enjoyed the blow holes which, at high tide, spurt out the rushing water from below. We missed that but enjoyed seeing and feeling the air rushing out.
The approach to the ranger station. WOW!
Simply clear!
Lady Enna's driftwood
We've joined the rest of the cruisers.
Top o' the world, ma!
Jaw dropping!
Life is good at the end of an anchor!
