Outta Outer Banks

We missed the Elizabethan Tymes Country Fair by one week - can you believe it?!?! We left Manteo by dawn's early light and headed down the Pamlico Sound to smooth 1-2 footers and a 100+ mile day. We ended up just off the Neuse River for an overnight stay. Up and at 'em the next day, we reached Morehead City, NC and spent an easy night tied to a restaurant's dock. Today, we are at Camp Lejeune anchoring with many other boats - we have hit the migration path of cruisers heading for the warmth of Florida, so it's going to get crowded at anchorages. This is the same place we were once warned by a heavily armed RIB complete with machine guns on the bow to "move along." Nick's hoping to see some military maneuvers this time too . . . just not against us!!!

Life is good at the end of an anchor (especially when there's no military action)!
