The Animal Trip
By Nicholas Metro
One day, me and my family were on the Waccamaw River in South Carolina. We anchored our boat to spend the night while we were on our way to Charleston. I saw an eagle, a deer and some alligators.
The eagle was chasing a seagull. The seagull had a fish in its talons and the eagle wanted the fish really badly. Everywhere the seagull went, the eagle went to try to get that fish. And then the seagull turned the other way and the eagle lost eyesight of the seagull and the seagull won the battle and kept its fish.
And then a couple of minutes later, I saw a buck back in a little creek. It got in the water, swam over to the other side. Then the deer stopped when it was almost to the other side and we thought it saw a hunter or an alligator. And then it just turned back around and swam back across the creek. Then it got out of the creek and went away.
We also saw turtles when we were going up the Waccamaw River. My sister, Eileen, saw two turtles sitting on one log. When we got anchored, I saw five more of them. One big one was sitting on a log, one little one was sitting on a log and then when some waves came over the logs, the big one turned around and did a belly flop in the water. After that, I saw four little turtles climb on the same log when the tide went out. And then when the tide came back in, all the turtles went back in the water except for the little one that stayed on the log, tucked it’s feet and head in his shell, stayed there a couple of hours and then went away.
The next day, we fired our engines and went down the river some more, and when were watching Harry Potter I, my mom cried, “Nicholas, Eileen, come up here! There’s three alligators right here!” The alligators were swimming and minding their own business. And then we came up and we saw the alligators. They were about three and a half feet long. My dad backed the boat up and my mom took some pictures.
I hope we go near that place again, so we can see deer, alligators, and eagles!
Hi Nicholas,
ReplyDeleteThat is so interesting. I like your animal story. Hey do you want to hear a joke? Ok.
Here is the joke. What did the boat say when it came to shore? Go on guess!
