Camp Lejeune . . . so we did see some military action!
Well Mr. Gadjo, care to educate the rest of us non-military types on this vehicle???? Nick calls it an Osprey, so tell us more!!!!
Well Nick, you are absolutely correct. This airborne "vehicle" is an MV-22 Osprey, the Marine Corps' medium lift tiltrotor aircraft, meaning it can take off and land like a helicopter and then rotate it's nacelles to increase speed and become a forward flying fixed wing aircraft. I'm sure most people are well aware of the controversy that has surrounded this aircraft over the years prior to it being introduced into full service with the Marine Corps after numerous crashes and mishaps that killed a number of Marines. It has served well in Iraq but I don't believe it has yet served in Afghanistan. You surely can find more information on Wikipedia or doing a search on Global Security! Happy to provide any other input, especially if it has to do with AH-1W Super Cobra attack helicopters, you surely must have seen some of those around Camp Lejeune and New River!
