Outta here and headin' south!

We have finally left the Chesapeake Bay and are headed south. Before leaving though . . .

We returned to Annapolis (from Baltimore) and spent three nights on anchor where we explored by dinghy Annapolis Naval Academy which was an incredible campus. We also hooked up with fabulous friends Loren (the "Babe of Best" tee hee) and Holly Bahnick and their two gorgeous children Samantha and Nathan. We had a beautiful day together until the end when showers gave the Metros a long, wet dinghy ride back to our boat. Oh well, we're all "wash and wear."

From there we had a smooth cruise of about 85 miles to a nearly perfect anchorage in VA (Foxwells, VA in Oyster Point). The kids could swim, we took many dinghy rides exploring and wake boarding (you should see them wakeboard!!!!!! they're awesome!!!!!). The anchorage also had a boat only accessible beach area where locals came to play volleyball and hang out. One night, we had a fire and roasted hot dogs.

Leaving that anchorage took us through the lock and to a free dock in Great Bridge, VA for a night. The next day we reached North Carolina and anchored, literally, in the middle of nowhere for the night. This morning we're on our way to Elizabeth City, NC (inland to make sure we're safe from TS Danny).
